Having our own 25 metre, solar heated swimming pool plays a major role in the Physical Education program at Mudgeeraba State School.  During Terms 1 and 4 swimming is our major focus.  In the lower years we concentrate on water confidence and water safety, working through mobility skills and stroke correction.  In the middle years we further focus further on stroke development and introduce survival swimming and skills.  The upper years program consists of fitness swimming, stroke correction and drills, survival swimming, rescue and resuscitation skills and water polo skills. This culminates in a water polo tournament at the end of Year 7. Development of water polo skills is a fun activity enjoyed in most year levels.

Back on the school oval during Terms 2 and 3, our lower school concentrates on skills to develop and promote growth in their physical abilities.  Gross motor activities, gymnastics, athletics and jump rope all promote body awareness and control.  Manipulative skills are developed through ball handling circuits and  games.  In the middle school we aim to develop game skills such as cricket, touch, Australian Rules football and ten pin bowling.  Archery and golf in Years 6 and 7 extend children's fine motor and co-ordination skills while being exciting new challenges.

At Mudgeeraba Primary School our aim is to make Physical Education enjoyable as well as beneficial to the development of children. This ideally prepares them for a healthy lifestyle in the future.
