Mudgeeraba State School has grown and changed with the Mudgeeraba community since 1891. Solid links have been established between the community and the school over this time. Each year our school supports community events and the community involves itself in school events.

Anzac Service

In the week leading up to Anzac Day our school commemorates the Anzac spirit with a moving service that is conducted by our students and produced by our Arts teachers. Our service is well attended by members of the Mudgeeraba community including residents from Sovereign Gardens, Mudgeeraba RSL and parents and grandparents from our school community. Our school also has a strong representation at the Mudgeeraba Anzac March.

Grandparents’ Day

At Mudgeeraba we recognise that Grandparents are important to the lives of our students and as such set aside a day when they are invited as special guests into our classrooms. On this day, approximately 200 Grandparents are treated to a snapshot of what it is like to learn in a 21st century classroom, are asked to share their memories of their time at school, are treated to performances by various Arts groups and are provided with morning tea.

Mudgeeraba Show

Students are invited to prepare quality pieces of work for display in the pavilion at the Mudgeeraba Show. As this is a well attended community event it is a great opportunity for our students to demonstrate to the community the type of learning that they do at school. Our students’ work has often been judged the ‘Best at Show.’

C.W.A. International Day

Each year the Mudgeeraba CWA Association holds an International Day. Our school celebrates this day with the CWA by participating in activities relating to the chosen country of study and having our Arts groups perform for the members at the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds. The CWA shows their appreciation by providing a morning tea for all performing students.

Spring Fair

On the last day of Term 3 we hold our annual Spring Fair at school. This fair is a joint effort between our classes and the P&C to raise funds for the school. Each class undertakes a real life learning experience to plan for and conduct their stall on the day. The fair is well attended by parents and community members who recognise this event as an important one on Mudgeeraba’s calendar.

Visits to Sovereign Gardens

Throughout the year, groups from our school take an opportunity to visit residents of Sovereign Gardens – an aged care facility situated across the road form our school. These visits are very appreciated by the residents and our students alike.
